CMC42: the race of August 2010 - delayed to August 13th

- All tracks to be played are kept in secret until the start of the race.

- Players can subscribe (min. 50 coppers) on the CoppersMillionCup dedicated server (click here to join, login CMCSRV), with a possible limit of 220 slots. After crossing the limit, you'll have to contact the staff in exchange of an extra donation to the server.

- How to subscribe: on the window that appears when joining the server, specify the fee for your subscription (at least 50 coppers), click on "J'accepte" and confirm. All coppers received will go to the JACKPOT, so feel free to boost it by donating

- You can see the subscription list (with logins and nicknames) on this page. On the very day, all non-registered players will see a black screen with a link to join the spectator relay server (currently offline...) that is for limiting the lag on the main server. Don't worry about that "no-spec policy", the week after the edition, all the played tracks and replays should be available for download

- Be prepared for your satisfaction: during the evening, there will be many players and potentially long tracks! So you should decrease the game graphics and the number of cars shown on the screen. You also need to shut down programs which consume too much in memory or CPU speed. Also consider increasing your computer memory (RAM), especially if you have not enough memory, if your OS is memory-hungry, or if you often get BSoD's or shutdowns...

- Keep in mind that criticism on each track should be both constructive and encouraging for the mapper, as described on this topic. Keep strongly negative comments (about tracks, mappers or the admins) to yourself, or post them on the forum with a motiving attitude.

For those who want to subscribe, be aware that the Onyx interface is down, so it's currently impossible to subscribe from the server. The cmc.teamvip.fr portal is down, too...
And with the administrators (Koko/TortuX, Stef) currently being in holidays, I can't say for sure when these problems are going to be fixed... Hopefully that can be sorted out quickly

EDIT: fixed... quickly. It should be all okay for tomorrow (Friday the 13th) now, subscribe if you haven't already done so

The results of yesterday's CMC are now available on TM-Rankings. Here is the image (the ugly scaling has been fixed, as well as the mappers' bonuses):


The tracks that have been played should be downloadable in about a week. As for the replays, you can get them right here (or here for the older ones)

There's no particular rule in case of a tie. The spreadsheet (or script) doesn't care about ties in the podium, so as a result, you were put in 3rd position.

Basically, we only take a fraction (eg. the first half) of the ranking table. That's the way it is since TM-Rankings' beginning (with the CMC17), and it's unlikely to change in a way that the whole ranking is used... There'll be always a few players who finish only 1~2 maps in an edition... But with more motivation, I'll try to add more than a half...
You're 77th out of 105 players. Adding you to TM-Rankings would require me/us to insert 3/4 of the complete ranking instead of the average 1/2... So I'd say no for this time... Better luck next time, sorry

Yeah, I'm aware about exceptions like these, but... right now I don't feel like looking through the results table one more time after asking for validation (not to mention, searching for the logins to make sure I don't pick the wrong players from the DB)... After all, it should be simple enough to get 1 pt/month (which wasn't possible until the CMC35) by playing every edition of the CMC with reasonably good ranks...

Anyway, I might think about that for the next edition, but until then... My priority is to continue work on the new version of the manialink so (maybe) it becomes quite functional for September, assuming I ain't lazy enough to delay it...

This morning, I just filled the ranking up to the 80th place (4/5 of the complete ranking).
For the next editions, I guess I'll do about 3/4 of the full ranking. Time shouldn't be much of a problem, although the start of the new school year is getting closer...

Je n'avais ajouté que les 50 premiers joueurs (la moitié) à TM-Rankings, et LEjacarandà demandait à apparaître en 77ème position avec 1 pt à la clé, une faveur (un remplissement supplémentaire) que j'ai hésité à faire... Il m'a montré des exemples d'éditions où certaines parties du classements ont été retirées; sauf qu'à ce moment (jusqu'à la CMC35), les joueurs étant 17e ou plus ne gagnaient pas de point; donc c'était plutôt une volonté de faire un "listing" plus large...
Puis finalement j'ai fait 80 joueurs (4/5 du classement) ce matin... Pour la prochaine fois, j'essaierai de faire au moins 3/4 du classement
